My question is do I have a case for medical malpractice because if he was treated better he would still have his leg

My step dad went into the hospital on December 15 2015 for a routine knee surgery and he was in no shape to have surgery after the surgery they held him till the end of the year and sent him home he is a overweight guy and a fall hazard he fell 25 times in the month of January and due to all the falls he suffered more damage to his left leg he tore his quad and ripped a ligament and after several attempts to get ahold of his doctor on Sunday the 30th of January I finally could get him some help back in the hospital where he had his surgery they decided to do another knee surgery and his heart , lungs, and kidneys shut down so he was on life support for nine days and after he pulled through that paying no attention to his knee they sent him to a nursing home and his leg got so infected that they had to apputate it mid thigh the beginning of March.

I agree with counsels answer, medical malpractice cases are fact intensive and you have multiple participants in your fathers care. Contact an attorney adapt so no statute of limitations toll.
