Can I file a restraining order on my 18 year old daughters boyfriend on her behalf.

I live in Missouri. I have an 18 year old daughter. I want to know if I can file a restraining order against her boyfriend on her behalf. She has been diagnosed with depression and anxiety since she has been with him. We believe he is manipulating her and being mentally abusive.

In general no, unless you have her declared incompetent and her appointed as your ward. This is drastic measures to get rid of bad boyfriend. This is a tough situation and if you see abuse, you can report him, if he threatens you, you can get a restraining order against him. Main thing is to talk to your daughter about your concerns.
