I received my first ticket for parking in a handicap spot. I am disabled an have been on social Security dis since 1999. I was told I was permanently disabled I had a placard in my car window hang tag but it was an old one i don’t live in Houston an no one ever told me I had to get a new one every year so I just called my county when it expired an the lady told me to just rewrite the date an that was in 2012 she told me to just change the yr to 2016 do I did an I’ve never had an issue until this time. I cannot afford over half my SS on a parking ticket. I called Houston an the lady laughed at me an hung up on me saying good luck dummy. I just don’t get it. I live in a small east Texas town an now I’m trying to understand it all better as I’m researching it all myself The lady at my county was trying to save me money a few years ago which I appreciate but now I just want this over. I would rather sit this out as quickly as possible as the heat is a major factor in my disease can someone advise me how to sit this out quickly
