Can I ask for a continuance at the first court date to have time to find a lawyer?

In early march ’16 I was pulled over by MO State Highway Patrol in Cass County, MO. I recieved tickets for no insurance and no seat belt.
My court date in tomorrow morning(5/10/16) at 9am. I didnt realize how soon my court date was and need time to get a lawyer. Can I go to court as scheduled and ask the judge for a continuance? Would he be likely to grant it?I already have 7 points accumulated within the last 18 months and im on probation for an SIS felony Class C.

My father has dementia, his truck keys we thought were well hidden. My family was in the process of selling his truck, apparently we were not quick or clever enough. He found the keys, went for a drive, which resulted in a Silver Alert, and ended in a fender bender. He was so confused, thinking people were trying to hurt him, he left the scene. He actually made it home, and things developed from there. He received several tickets, which is where Speeding Ticket KC comes into the picture. I felt I needed someone to present his case as yes he was responsible, he still had insurance, & we would make the other party whole. The caveat was and is his dementia, the police at the scene and the other party did not fully understand his mental capacity. He was facing possible jail time. Could be more efficient, they weren’t horrible! They did not pay attention to their emails and they almost got me a violation for my probation causing me to almost have to go to court and prove I did not try to avoid the ticket. Got a speeding ticket the day after Christmas. Didn't want the points on my license so I gave Mr.simons a call. Guy seem kind of rude, and talk to me like I was already guilty which is not the due process. When I go to an attorney I expect someone to see things from my point of view, not be to take me on as if they're the prosecutor coming down on me. Not the prosecutor who forgot to tell it to the judge, not to me, because that is offensive and who I talk to over the phone seemed offensive. This past summer, I was stopped for a minor violation. The officer could have very easily given a warning, but chose not to, even thought I was courteous and have a totally clean driving record. I work long hours and cannot take any time off work for court or anything like that. A friend told me to get an attorney, which is correct advice. You don't want points on your record. I found R. i've used this agency two times now, i think for three speeding tickets, once in 2019, and other might have been in 2014 or 2015. (mental guess.) Both times, my ticket was promptly handled & i've been impressed with the service i received. it's so rare to get cheap, fast, and good service, all 3! but i feel that Speeding Ticket KC delivered all three both times. And both times, i checked around on prices & found them to be the least expensive too! I hope hey stay around for a long time!

I ask for a recommendation on a Facebook Community Page for a reasonably priced attorney to handle a speeding ticket and several people posted a link to this site. Without hesitation, I filled out the information page and received contacts in less than five minutes. I took care of payment and submitting a copy of my ticket from the comfort of my own home. I also received multiple emails before and after my court date, keeping me UTD on the status. This was extremely easy and if I manage to get caught speeding in the future, I will most definitely go this same route.

I am updating my review because Mr Simons has helped me with two more tickets since I received my initial one. One was from speeding, and another from accidentally running a stop sign. He took care of all three of my tickets very quickly(within days) and smoothly! I am a college student with a busy schedule, and I didn’t even have to worry about a thing. He was super helpful and very personable, and even still when I accidentally kept misspelling his name! Mr. Simons did a fantastic job in reducing my construction zone speeding ticket to faulty equipment. Although the officer didn't mark the ticket as construction zone, he did make note of it in the notes area on the ticket. Multiple lawyers said my ticket cost would likely be twice the amount that Mr. Simons was able to get it down to.

Mr. Simmons is hands down one of the best lawyers in Missouri. Not only is he fast, affordable, and informative; he also gives free consultations. He helped me with a speeding ticket I received and got it fully taken care of in only 3 days. He also helped me set up my LLC in a matter of a few days as well.
