Can I legally get my security deposit back due to dangerous neighbors?
I moved into an apartment in Feb. and quickly found out the neighbors were unstable and drug users. They frequently shout at us, block my car with trash cans, and shout threats through our door. We have called the cops a few times on them with no arrests made. Our landlord has been telling us he is in the process of evicting them but we have been told many times “They should be out by this date” with no results and when we ask him about it he says he is waiting on the sheriff. We have asked for his attorney to contact us but he never has. We had some very serious threats made towards us (we have the audio of it as well) lately so we are moving out. With all the evidence we have (audio of threats, video of them acting aggressive, etc) are we legally entitled to our security deposit? Our landlord is letting us out of the lease without further pursuit of money but after all we have been through we want to get this deposit back.

It seems like you should be able to if you are able to prove that they neighbors invaded your quiet enjoyment of the land.
