How to modify child support when your EX can easily hide his salary?
My EX and I have 60(me)/40 custody of our D16 with me paying health insurance ($575/month for D and I get $90 a week in CS). The cost of health insurance in the two years since our decree was signed has gone up more than 50% (was $225 then). We are also approaching the 2 year mark for salary review for modifications. Unfortunately, my EX has basically taken over his affair partner’s business and is now one of the 3 directors, a shareholder, the CFO, Treasurer AND Secretary according to the business board. He just bought a $900,000 house with this woman but claims his income is unchanged in the past few years. How can I prove to the court that his salary has probably more than doubled?
Traffic Lawyer Richard Simon’s Answer
Hire a good attorney who is well versed in these matters. It will be up to the court to decide what is equitable.
