Can I fight an insurance traffic ticket if I bought insurance directly after that when…
Can I get this removed if I show I was unaware? If I purchase insurance can it be removed? can I get the ticket lowered?
Can I get this removed if I show I was unaware? If I purchase insurance can it be removed? can I get the ticket lowered?
Yesterday I was visiting with my boyfriend who lives roughly 30 miles from my house, I was pulled over to the side of the street talking to my boyfriend when a cop drove by going roughly 5 miles an hour. I found it strange but he continued on, I was driving my parents car (yes my name is shared on the title) but i only drive it maybe once a week. 45 minutes after the officer drove away I pulled away from the house and not even 1 block away I was pulled over by the same cop that drove by. He asked if I knew why I was being arrest I responded with “no officer” he then stated my insurance was not active, and asked if I had proof I handed over my license and registration but stated that I did not own the car and had no idea where the insurance was kept, he asked my to call my dad and when I did my father told me he didn’t know where it was. I told the cap this and he still gave me a ticket even though I had no idea the car was not insured, I am still in high school, and am never usually allowed to drive the car. Is there anyway I can fight this, as to the fact that I was unaware that the insurance was not valid? I am also $3,000 in debt, if this cant be removed can the fine be reduced?

In general yes you can fight it if insurance is purchased afterwards to show that you have gained financial responsibility for the car.
