What can I do with broken artwork in art gallery
I recently have an art show in a gallery, the piece of art work was install by myself, everything was fine the piece was there for more than 1 1/2 months with 2 open and over hundreds of people had attend
few day before I suppose to pick the work, gallery said one of the worker find the piece of art work was broken on the ground… they are saying my work has fallen on it own and broken, even tho it had hold up the whole time I was making it, sitting outside of my studio ready to be deliver.
There are no prove to say that it is not their fault, due to the fact that there were no condition report from the gallery when before and after the piece arrive and install, there no video or any kind to say prove anyone did it or not,
They file a claim with their insurance, insurance adjuster looked at it, and decline to pay anything, this whole time I am out of the loop, insurance adjuster never call and discuss the broken piece with me, and there are way to say they have the experience to evaluate my work
is there anything I can do?

You can file suit against the gallery for what the amount the piece is worth. It maybe a costly suit because you would need an expert to appraise the value of the piece .
