How can I get a ticket on my car for no license plate when the car has not been registered to me yet?

How can I get a ticket

I bought a car and the temp tag was falling off. I put the temp tag in the backseat of my car and parked it on the side of the street legally. When I came back later to leave there was a ticket on my windshield for no license plate. The ticket was not made out to me and has no identification on it for my vehicle except the make and model. What should I even do with it?

Traffic Lawyer Richard Simon’s Answer:
You were operating a motor vehicle that did not have plates and a vehicle is to have plates when driving. Tickets are given to people and not to cars. The same thing would happen to you if you drove someone else’s car. The law puts a strange burden that you should ask several questions before driving. Not practical, but it is the law.
